How do I initiate application for a temporary building permit?
Applicants need to provide a tax map key parcel number and a site plan to the County. The site plan shall include, at a minimum, the following information:
- Total number of temporary dwelling units and other currently existing structures.
- Existing roads and driveways.
- Proposed roads and driveways (label distance and width).
- All proposed utility installations (water, sewer, electrical, cable, etc.) requiring trenching.
- Location of nearest fire hydrant with approximate distance from proposed dwelling indicated. Location of proposed fire hydrants.
- Distance between proposed building and adjacent structures.
- Total area of temporary housing including proposed roads

In the unlikely event that subsurface historic resources, including human skeletal remains, structural remains, cultural deposits, artifacts, sand deposits, or sink holes are identified during the demolition and/or construction work, cease work in the immediate vicinity of the find, protect the find from additional disturbance, and contact the State Historic Preservation Division, at (808) 652-1510.
- Site plan shall be drawn to scale and all features shall be labeled.
- Provide name of water purveyor providing potable (and non-potable, if applicable) and total water demand in gallons per day. If it is a private water purveyor, provide a "Will Serve" letter from the private water purveyor.
