• Assisting residents with applying for Disaster Recovery Building Permits for alterations, repairs, reconstruction, and new construction in areas affected by the August 2023 Maui wildfires.
• Processing and expediting permits for owners seeking to rebuild in fire-impacted areas of Lahaina and Kula.
• Expedited permitting process, acting as the first point of contact for the public.

Wildfire survivors can access Ho'ōla iā Mauiakama's Disaster Case Management Program for comprehensive support tailored to each 'ohana's unique recovery journey.

Hoʻokumu Hou encompasses all of the County of Maui’s recovery programs funded by the $1.6 billion in federal Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds appropriated for the 2023 Maui wildfires, with a focus on housing initiatives intended to help wildfire survivors receive the means they need to stay, or return, home.

Kaibigan ng Lahaina staff will be present at the Office of Recovery-West Maui at Lahaina Gateway Shopping Center. From 8:30AM to 4:30PM on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays.
