Housing Financial Assistance Resources:
- FEMA Disaster Assistance - Deadline Dec. 11, 2023 (Possible 60-day grace period extension based on extenuating circumstances, exceptions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. For in-person assistance, visit the Kaho‘o Center or the Lahaina Civic Center. For those off-island, call the FEMA Help Center 1-800-621-3362.)
- Catholic Charities Hawaii (CCH) State Homeless Emergency Grants Program
- CNHA Host Housing Support Program - $350/person, up to $1500/household
- CNHA & DHHL Kūpuna Rental Subsidy Program
- Family Life Center housing assistance
- FEMA - up to 18 months of rental assistance, but you must find your own housing
- State of Hawai‘i Department of Human Services & Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) & AirB&B Rental Assistance Program (RAP)
- KHAKO Rental Assistance Program (RAP)
- Makai High Needs - direct-aid form (for those falling through the cracks in the system/ kūpuna, those with health challenges, multi-generational households, those who lost family members etc.)
Individual Financial Support Resources:
- FEMA Disaster Assistance - Deadline Dec. 11, 2023 (Survivors can register with FEMA 60 days past the deadline but would need to provide a justification before any processing would begin)
- Hale Makua Maui Disaster Relief Fund - up to $5,000 - currently closed
- FEMA Vehicle ONA program - $16,000 max for one vehicle
- FEMA - up to $41k per household for contents and potentially $41K for ONA (though rare)
- Hawaii Community Lending’s Kānaka Anti-Displacement Fund
- Makai high needs - direct-aid form (open for highest needs)
- Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce "Bayanihan Relief Fund"
Family, Kūpuna, & Keiki Financial Support Resources:
- Alzheimer's Association - Hawaii's Maui Caregiver Respite Assistance Program - Up to $2,500 per family for caregiving services
- Maui Relief TANF Program for families with dependent children
User Specific Grants:
- UVSC Financial Assistance Program for those fighting cancer
- USDA Rural Development’s Single Family Housing Grant Programs
- USDA Rural Development Multifamily Housing Rental Assistance
- AVMF Disaster Grants for veterinarians impacted by disasters or veterinarians/students who are providing care to animals impacted by disasters. - Up to $5,000. Deadline: 9 months following the disaster.
