The County of Maui Department of Water Supply (DWS) will host the Maui WaiWise Stewardship Summit on Nov. 9 and 10, 2026, inviting representatives from hotels, resorts and condominium associations across Maui to learn practical strategies for improving water efficiency and helping protect Maui’s long-term water resources.
“The strongest solutions come when we bring people together and share knowledge,” County DWS Director John Stufflebean said. “This summit provides an opportunity to exchange information, identify opportunities and continue building partnerships that support our island’s water resources.”
The free, two-day summit will provide professionals in the hotel, resort and condominium sectors with information, tools and guidance on water conservation, operational efficiency, best management practices and resilient design applications.
DWS encourages board members, property managers, operations and maintenance staff, and others responsible for facility management, to participate and learn more about strategies that can support sustainable water use.
Space is limited; registrants will be asked to provide their organizational affiliation during registration. To register, visit www.mauiwaiwise.com.
The program will feature keynote speaker Michael Chang, vice president and head of sustainability and resilience for Host Hotels & Resorts, where he oversees the company’s sustainability strategy, including Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification efforts and resource efficiency initiatives across its hotel portfolio.
